Dr Strangelove is brilliant.

Panther films are hilarious. Love the bit where he's on the parallel bars .

Being There is a clever film as well.

Yes, without a doubt.

From Wiki:

"I start with the voice. I find out how the character sounds. It's through the way he speaks that I find out the rest about him. ... After the voice comes the looks of the man. I do a lot of drawings of the character I play. Then I get together with the makeup man and we sort of transfer my drawings onto my face. An involved process. After that I establish how the character walks. Very important, the walk. And then, suddenly, something strange happens. The person takes over. The man you play begins to exist."

Although probably now surpassed by Lenny Henry, Eddie Izzard and Nish Kumar.

Love the scene where Kato stands on his shoulders to look in an upstairs window but to no avail so Clouseau says, I know, why don't I stand on your shoulders instead, Kato says what good what that do , and Clouseau replies, because I'm taller than you, you idiot.

Not sure his film "The Party" would get shown much these days - but very funny

Pink Panther films are timeless comedy.

Remember him walking into a dark corridor for sometime until the lights came on and he was on a treadmill!

The Kato fight scenes were superb

I have trouble saying monkey without thinking "minkey"

Strangelove, the best comedy ever in my opinion.

Being There is an incredible performance.

Shot in the Dark - "Everything I do is perfectly planned" as he falls backwards off the sofa. Clearly a genius on screen but not the nicest in real life by all accounts. All got a bit messy with his kids and Lynne Frederick got his estate now owned by her only daughter who never even met Sellers. Sadly, Michael his son died 26 years to the day his dad died.

That whole scene with Clouseau, the blind beggar and the chimp, is utter genius as is the follow up with Herbert Lom's character, Dreyfuss

Re: Peter Sellers: Was he a comedy genius or what?
You have to remember that Herbert Lom was almost as good as Sellers just a perfect chemistry

Peter Sellars should have won the best actor oscar for Being There, his creation of Chauncy Gardiner was brilliant.

Must put The Ladykillers out there. Sellers, Lom and the brilliant Alec Guinness. Must find it again, haven't seen it in years.
